First Private Hospital in Malaysia to Launch the MAMMOMAT Revelation
A serious health condition like breast cancer may make you feel your whole world is crumbling. At ParkCity Medical Centre, we want to support and encourage Malaysians to access early detection of breast cancer, when it is most amenable to effective treatment. Therefore, we are proud to announce that ParkCity Medical Centre is the first private hospital in Malaysia to launch the MAMMOMAT Revelation.
Why the MAMMOMAT Revelation?

- The PATIENT is our TOP priority – patient comfort optimised by decreasing compression by 40% compared to other standard mammograms
Mammography is still the gold standard in breast cancer screening. Unfortunately, women associate this process as uncomfortable and painful, leading them to avoid the mammogram. Our new MAMMOMAT Revelation prioritises patient experience. With the unique OpComp function, the optimal compression for each patient is adjusted automatically. As soon as the optimal compression for the best image quality is reached, the paddle stops. This enables our radiographers to apply the appropriate compression for the best quality image. The SoftComp Paddles have soft and rounded edges, allow better access for position. All these features translate to more comfort for the patient.
- It reduces radiation dose
Mammograms expose the breasts to small amounts of radiation. Thanks to the unique PRIME Technology, the MAMMOMAT Revelation provides low-dose examinations with up to 30% less radiation dose, without compromising image quality.
- It delivers superior cancer detection with wide-angle tomosynthesis (3-D mammogram)
Breast screening can result in anxiety. It is crucial that we reduce the need for further work up by ensuring whatever we find suspect in the mammogram is truly the case. With the 50° wide-angle Tomosynthesis, the MAMMOMAT Revelation makes anatomical details clearly visible with up to 3.5 times higher depth resolution compared to a narrow-angled system. It also achieves the highest mass detectability.
In other words, Tomosynthesis enables us to provide you with a more accurate, early and reliable diagnosis. In fact, the 50° wide-angle Tomosynthesis has been proven to improve cancer detection rate.
When needed, we can perform tissue sampling (biopsy), which is known as the HD Breast Biopsy in the MAMMOMAT Revelation. Here, we will determine whether what we found through the mammogram is cancerous or otherwise. Our patients will benefit from the unique 50° wide-angle technology which results in a target accuracy of +/- 1mm. With both the HD Breast Tomosynthesis and HD Breast Biopsy, the MAMMOMAT Revelation will support you in making confident and informed decisions.
- It provides more than just one view
The MAMMOMAT Revelation provide patients with 3D views via Insight 3D, compared to standard 2D mammograms. Insight 3D also supports easier analysis of microcalcifications at a glance, saving time for our radiology team and patients.
Insight 2D provides images similar to a mammogram, making it ideal for easy comparison with prior images. In other words, you do not have to undergo another 2D examination. This also means that radiation dose is reduced by 40% since the images produced by Insight 2D is created from the same dataset as the Tomosynthesis slices.
- It is quick and efficient including mammogram guided biopsies
Mammogram guided breast biopsy is faster and more efficient, potentially reducing the time your breast is under compression for the biopsy. With InSpect, the integrated specimen scanner in the MAMMOMAT Revelation, we can get your specimen scan within just 20 seconds right on the mammography system, with the radiology team right beside you.
TiCEM, the Titanium Contrast Enhanced Mammography, is a time-effective diagnosis alternative to MRI. TiCEM allows our patients to receive additional diagnostic information in order to confidently detect or rule out lesions with the use of contrast injected into your vein. TiCEM is faster and lower cost than MRI examinations.
As the 50⁰ Wide-Angle Tomosynthesis provides quicker results patient waiting time is also reduced. With just one click, our radiographer will select the patient and start the examination. All parameters are set and the procedure moves from step to step automatically.
Breast density is now a known independent risk factor for breast cancer. The Insight Breast Density (Insight BD) feature of the MAMMOMAT Revelation offers you 100% objective classification for instant risk stratification right at the acquisition workstation. In other words, you will receive a more precise breast density assessment on the spot.
Ready to get your mammogram now?
Breast cancer is the top overall cancer in Malaysia, and the top cancer in women, accounting for just above 30% of female cancers (National Cancer Report 2012-2016).
