Speech language therapy aims to provide a diagnostic and comprehensive speech and language assessment and intervention for children with speech, language and social communication difficulties.

Speech language therapist administers assessments and analyzes the results to develop an individualized speech language therapy programme that meets the child’s needs.

Speech therapist sees a child who has:

  • Speech disorders where a child has poor speech intelligibility and speech fluency
  • Language disorders where a child has trouble to understand others or expressing needs, thoughts, and feelings
  • Social communication disorders where a child has difficulties with both verbal and non-verbal social communication skills. Skills include responding to others, using gestures, taking turn, ask and answer questions, staying on topics, making and keeping friends
